Assess Your Opportunity for Improvement

An inherent requirement of Continuous Improvement is to set a goal that cannot be feasibly achieved - then pursue it with reckless abandon. Okay maybe not completely reckless but it's important to at least take it seriously. The phrase "shoot for the moon and even if you miss, you'll land among the stars" by Norman Vincent Paele applies here in full effect. Approaching your Lean initiative with this attitude sets the stage for creating a culture of perpetual improvement.
